Much needed self-care with CBD

The times are heavy … 2020 was not a year any of us imagined the way it’s going to be. It took me a while to process all that is happening and through lots of downs and some precious ups, I finally arrived at a more or less balanced reality perception. My analytical side tried at first to make logical sense of things and offer results and directions of moving forward based on the mental analysis, but the biggest problem was to find peaceful resolution of my emotional side. No matter how solid arguments my logical mind presented, my heart felt very heavy. The biggest change happened almost out of nowhere when one day I just felt feeling a little more like myself and full of energy to carry on and ready to get inspired and hopeful inspire as well :)

What became obvious is paying attention to both how you feel and think as an observer and not a judge is what my self-care is about. We are complex beings with many things and processes that keep us in balance and that unique balance point comes from deep understanding of self. At the moments of stress and grief, we loose our balance and once lost it’s tricky to get it back. I found an unexpected small change in my routine to be very helpful in the self healing process. Whenever I can, I would try to find some quiet time (even if just for a minute) and do something even silly to just be in that moment. One thing lead to another and I started really enjoying spending that precious moment doing CBD skincare routines. But wait, do you know what CBD is?

CBD is short for Cannabidiol, which is a compound known as a cannabinoid and, more specifically, a Phytocannabinoid. Cannabinoids are derived from cannabis plants (eg: marijuana and hemp), which are associated with many general wellness and medicinal qualities. CBD is one of the most commonly researched and utilized, as it is non-psychoactive and interacts with a series of receptors in your body known as the Endocannabinoid System. CBD does not cause an intoxicating effect.

- &Sunny

&Sunny Skincare

One of my favorite CBD skincare brands is &Sunny. I saw it first on Instagram and really liked the whole vibe and aesthetic of it. After reading more about ingredients used in &Sunny products and how Rachelle Slotnick (company’s founder) came about it, I got very intrigued to try it. The first products I used were Face Cream and Hand Lotion (read my review). Both surprised me at how effective and nice they are! Face Cream is vey hydrating and nourishing while not keeping my face greasy that similar products used to do. That’s why it quickly became my go to cream for morning or night. Hand Lotion has a pleasant thin texture that gets absorbed pretty quickly while leaving hands soft and hydrated.

Since the Face Lotion and Hand Cream were such a success, I was eager to try more. My next two &Sunny products to try were Calming Bath Fizz and Hydrating Goat’s Milk Soap. These two are perfect for a spa hour at home. I feel like a good book and fizzy bath followed by a great soap is my personal secret weapon to kick the blues away.

SOIGN Beauty Oil

CBD Beauty Oil

Soign CBD Beauty Oil is probably one of the more sophisticated beauty oil that I own. From the exquisite name to the beautiful texture of this oil, it feels like a 100% pampering experience when you use it. I just could not believe how well it gets absorbed without adding shine to the face that most of the beauty oils usually leave. I especially like using it on the dry spots or areas that need extra help or as a night beauty routine.

PLUS CBD Infused Gummy Vitamins

PLUS gummies

PLUS gummies

And last but not least CBD product that adds perfectly to the well rounded self care moment is PLUS gummies. These are probably most delicious vitamins that I have. I really like the balance and uplift ones for the before or after workout sessions. It seems to bring that precious balance I mentioned earlier to my day. And when I need more help with keeping that balance at night, then sleep PLUS gummies are a must!
